History museum
A history museum is a place where historical artifacts are displayed and exhibited, people will attend a history museum often to learn about a particular historical period for educational purpose or simply because they are interested. History museums are frequently found in towns, cities and other areas that have a significant historical background, an ideal example of location where a history museum is likely to be found would be ancient ruins, or possibly the sight of an archeological dig.
It is not uncommon for monuments and landmarks with historical backgrounds to be converted into a history museum themselves, for example Warwick castle has stood since the 11th century and is now home to a history museum. Many people prefer to visit locations such as this where a history museum is incorporated into a location of historical significance as they believe it gives visitors a great deal of insight than simple visiting a history museum which is a building housing historical artifacts.
There are also living history museums such as Iron Bridge Museum and the Black Country museum in Dudley which employ people who will wear the appropriate style of dress as assume the role of people of that time. A living history museum is a popular location for school field trips as they offer a more in depth educational experience, giving children a greater insight into the period of history the museum focuses on.
